At Eclipse Dental Care we are able to offer you private orthodontic treatment under the care of Jill Collins who is a registered Specialist Orthodontist. Please visit her website: www.eclipseorthodontics.co.uk.
Jill has a great deal of experience treating both children and adults and all her work is carried out to a very high standard. She offers regular metal braces as well as more aesthetic options like lingual braces and Invisalign.
Her team work hard to ensure you receive the best care possible and she offers late night and Saturday morning appointments so work commitments are not affected.
Any concerns regarding the appearance of your teeth will be discussed and a full clinical examination will be performed. You different treatment options will be explained and then if you are still interested in orthodontic treatment a further appointment will be arranged to take full clinical records.
Impressions for study models will be taken and photographs of your teeth. Any relevant x-rays will also be taken. A full written treatment plan will be sent out.
Third and subsequent appointments
Your brace will be fitted and then you will be seen every 7-8 weeks to have the brace adjusted. When your treatment is completed the brace will be removed and then you will be provided with retainers to prevent any relapse ( unwanted movement) of your teeth.
Different types of braces:
These are fixed onto your teeth and cannot be removed. They can be fixed on to the front or back (lingual braces) of your teeth. Braces fixed onto the front of you teeth can be metal or ceramic (tooth coloured). The ceramic braces offer a more aesthetic option. Lingual braces cannot be seen from the front and are therefore very appealing.
This system consists of a series of clear aligners that are worn for over 22 hours a day and are removed for eating/drinking and brushing your teeth. The aligners are like very thin clear gum shields that only cover your teeth. A new aligner is fitted every 2 weeks and over a series of aligners the teeth start to move and straighten up.Back To Treatments
